 Notes: The Silent Film Collection includes posters, window cards, lobby cards, heralds, press books, music scores, magazines, photographs, postcards, and other materials promoting films made between the years 1915 and 1947. Many of the materials are related to silent films produced by Norman Studios in the 1920s. Norman Studios, founded by Richard E. Norman in Jacksonville, Florida, was known for producing films featuring all African American casts between 1920 and 1928. Other items are the pressbooks for many independent and lost silent feature films. Magazine titles in the collection include Kinema,  and The Motion Picture. Postcards feature portraits of Vitagraph Players and other silent stars.
