A pamphlet from 1929 explaining the new course being offered at USC, why moviemaking in a University setting is relevant in Los Angeles, and introduces the guest lecturers who are to teach “Intro to Photoplay.”

Among the lecturers are:
+ Douglas Fairbanks (whose statue resides in the courtyard between the Spielberg and Lucas Buildings),
+ Ernst Lubitsch, Honorary Academy Award Winner
+ William DeMille, one of the founders of the Academy
+ Clara Beranger, silent film screenwriter and the only female lecturer
+ J. Stuart Blackton, considered one of the fathers of animation
